1929 Volvo PV4 Sound Effects Library

The Volvo PV4 sound fx collection features 280 clips and 10.42 gigabytes of an antique 1929 Swedish car. Also known as the Jakob or ÖV4, the library shares a total of 22 takes of its 1.9 litre, 4-cylinder side-valve, 28 horsepower engine.

A total of 25 synchronized channels capture onboard and exterior recordings. Microphones placed at three exterior locations (7 perspectives) depict starting, shutting off, departing, passing, and arriving. The onboard microphones (6 perspectives) were placed inside the cab, around the engine, and at the exhaust to capture driving at steady RPMs and with ramps. Also included is an interior Ambisonic perspective, a number of false starts, and performed effects.

Every clip is embedded with Soundminer, BWAV, and MacOS Finder metadata comments.
