2001 Volkswagen Golf Sound Effects Library

The German 2001 Volkswagen Golf Sportscombi sound fx collection features 319 clips in 31.44 gigabytes of field recordings. It showcases the sound of its 1.6 litre engine with 5 speed transmission in a total of 13 synchronized takes.

The 11 onboard perspectives feature microphones mounted in the engine, at the exhaust, and the interior (with an Ambisonic perspective) to record driving with gearshifts, steady RPMs, and ramps. The 8 exterior microphones were positioned at 5 locations to record starting and shutting down, departures and arrivals, and passes (including doppler horn passes) at slow to fast speeds. Also included are performed sound effects of doors, windshield wipers, horns, and more.

The package is complete with Reaper and Pro Tools editing sessions, Altiverb and Waves impulse responses of the cabin interior, full professional metadata embedded in every clip, and 5 stereo rendered mixes of the onboard and exterior perspectives for easy editing.
