1960’s Chieftain Tank Sound Effects Library
The United Kingdom Leyland Motors FV4201 Chieftain battle tank sound library includes 150 clips in 17.05 gigabytes. It features the sound of a late 1960s version of the tank and its supercharged Leyland L60 multifuel 6 cylinder, 2-stroke opposed-piston compression-ignition engine.
A total of 22 channels present the tank in 10 synchronized takes. The onboard microphones (9 perspectives) were mounted at the tracks, engine, exhaust, and in the interior. Exterior microphones (6 perspectives) recorded departures, passes, and arrivals driving at slow, medium, and fast speeds from multiple locations using stereo, mono, and surround microphones.
Also bundled with the package are stereo mixes of the onboard channels, performed effects of hatches and the turret, Pro Tools and Reaper mixing sessions, and complete professional metadata embedded in every clip.
