1972 BRDM-2 Sound Effects Library

The Polish 1972 BRDM-2 amphibious armored 7-ton patrol car sound library includes 420 sounds in 66.32 gigabytes of field recordings. The collection features the sound of a a GAZ 41 5530 ccm naturally aspirated V8 140 horsepower 3400 RPM gasoline engine.

Both onboard and exterior perspectives share driving in 14 synchronized takes. 17 onboard perspectives include recordings from the interior (including and Ambisonic perspective), engine, exhaust, as well as on the vehicle as it drives with steady RPMs, ramps, and gearshifts. A further 6 exterior perspectives share performances ranging from departures, reversing, passing by, and approaching at slow, medium, and fast speed. Also included are starting and stopping, idles, and performed sound effects of dashboard instruments, pedals, and more.

The collection is provided with custom mixes of the onboard perspectives, Pro Tools and Reaper mixing sessions, 18+ fields of Soundminer metadata, BWAV, and iXML metadata and MacOS Finder comments, and text files of translated search keywords in 7 languages, ready for import into your favourite metadata app.
